Community-Based Approach

The programme focuses on bringing healthcare services closer to the community through systematic screening and health assessment of beneficiaries. Community-based activities and health camps facilitate access to basic health services and help identify individuals requiring further medical attention.

Screening and Assessment

The programme facilitates identification of musculoskeletal and geriatric health concerns through clinical assessment, documentation of relevant medical history and appropriate diagnosis and management. The prescribed screening format includes essential beneficiary details such as name, age/sex, address, contact number, marital status, presenting complaints, past history, family history, allergies and diagnosis.

Prevention, Management and Referral

The programme emphasizes early detection, timely management, health awareness and appropriate referral of individuals requiring further medical evaluation. This approach supports continuity of care and promotes greater awareness regarding musculoskeletal and geriatric health conditions at the community level.

Field-Level Implementation

Under the programme, field-level health activities are being carried out in Balianta and Balipatna blocks. Health camps are organized at Anganwadi Centres in different villages to facilitate community participation and provide accessible health screening services closer to the beneficiaries.

Community Participation

The programme also promotes active participation of frontline health workers and the local community. ASHA workers are oriented/trained regarding the programme and involved in mobilizing beneficiaries from their respective villages to attend the health camps, thereby strengthening community-level outreach and improving access to healthcare services.
